I told myself several years ago that I should create a book about photography and my favorite images with the title “Light and Opportunity”. Somehow, with kids in school, a full work life at EMC, and a house and farm that always needs attention, that has been difficult to achieve. I hope that this site with several galleries of photos is a beginning and a substitute.

Most of my work, my vision, is what one might term “straight forward photography” in that it tries to achieve the modest goals of beauty, drama, sensitivity, and direct connection with the viewer. There is occasional humor, almost never pain. Mostly it is a travel log of my experiences with nature, family, music, urban landscape, and interesting people.
