My family and I live in Harvard, MA which is a town in central Massachusetts most noted for its apple growing and cider production, and the fact that it has a public school with high MCAS (standard state testing) scores. Kristina is a Freshman at Bryn Mawr College in PA, and Nicholas is in high school.

It is winter now, so I am leading with this image from last year. We get a lot of snow, or at least it seems that way. This is a view from the kitchen door, looking at our small garage and pump house. (There was a working hand pump over a well).

Plenty of nature to photograph during the summer. Here is a monarch resting on flowers that Eileen plants around the house.

Here (left) is a winter shot from 2008, taken from the field “out back”.  I am particularly fond of the two birches. Unfortunately in the 2009 ice storm the one on the left suffered considerably.

The view toward the north west is my favorite. This is a summer image taken from the back door. You can see the New Hampshire mountains at least 30 miles away.

In the winter months we have a stove going all the time. It is cozy for when we watch a movie, and it cuts back a lot on the fuel bill.

The local public library is a big deal for us. I am a trustee and helped the effort to build a new library “attached” to the Old Bromfield School. Here is a 2009 image using a high dynamic range technique with multiple exposures.

View from the pond, looking back towards the house. On the far left is the play house, affectionately called the “mouse house”.
